LASIK Laser Vision Correction
Our cornea surgery experts, Adam J. Altman, MD, Jonathan D. Primack, MD, and Kevin J. Shah, MD have a combined 40+ years of LASIK experience and are the only board certified and cornea fellowship-trained LASIK specialists in the area.
Their preferred technique for laser vision correction is the state-of-the-art bladeless, or “all-laser,” LASIK procedure, which modifies the curvature of your cornea with cool laser beams instead of a surgical blade. The state-of-the-art bladeless technique combines two laser technologies to create an all-laser procedure with an unprecedented level of safety, precision, and comfort.
No-Stitch Cataract Surgery
There is no medication, laser treatment or exercise routine that can make a cataract go away. Cataract surgery is the only way to remove a cataract and restore clear vision. And the latest artificial lens implant technologies make it possible for many patients to see well up-close and at a distance without the need for glasses.
Our cataract specialists include Adam J. Altman, MD, Y. Katherine Hu, MD, Lawrence E. Kenney, MD, Christina Lippe, MD, Michael A. Malstrom, MD, Mehul H. Nagarsheth, MD, Abhishek Nemani, MD, Jonathan D. Primack, MD, and Kevin J. Shah, MD.
They perform most cataract surgeries today using ultrasound (high frequency sound waves) to soften the cloudy lens, remove it through a tiny incision, and replace it with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). In most cases, no stitches are required because the self-sealing incision is so small. And, because there are no uncomfortable stitches to care for, there are fewer post-surgery restrictions on your activities.
Retina Care
Specializing in vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery, including macular degeneration and retinal detachment surgery, are Barry C. Malloy, MD, who is board-certified and completed his vitreo-retinal fellowship training at the Washington Hospital Center.; Michael Cusick, MD, who is board-certified and completed a medical and surgical vitreo-retinal fellowship at the Duke Eye Center; and Anastasia Traband, MD, who is board-certified and completed her vitreo-retinal fellowship at the Sheie Eye Institute at the Penn Medicine Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania.
Drs. Malloy, Cusick and Traband are experienced with the most modern surgical techniques for retina care.

The board certified, fellowship-trained Glaucoma specialists at Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania include Mehul H. Nagarsheth, MD, who received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed his glaucoma fellowship at Tufts New England Eye Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, and Abhishek Nemani, MD, who received his medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and was fellowship-trained in at the prestigious Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania
