LASIK Vision Correction Surgery in Berks County, PA

Voted Best of Berks—
eight years in a row!
If you’re tired of reaching for your glasses or struggling with contacts, LASIK eye surgery could be your path to clearer vision. At Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania, we’re proud to offer the most advanced form of LASIK surgery right here in Berks County. Performed in our fully licensed Wyomissing surgical suite, LASIK combines safety, accuracy, and convenience with the trusted care of experienced, fellowship-trained surgeons.
What Is LASIK?
LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is a laser-based procedure that reshapes the cornea to correct refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. At Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania, we use Bladeless Custom LASIK, also known as all-laser LASIK, which eliminates the use of a surgical blade and enhances precision.
The procedure involves three key steps:
- A femtosecond laser creates a thin flap in the outer layer of the cornea.
- An excimer laser then reshapes the inner corneal tissue to correct your vision.
- The flap is repositioned and naturally adheres; no stitches required.
Most patients report little to no discomfort, and the procedure typically takes about 10–15 minutes per eye.
Is LASIK Right for You?
Most LASIK candidates:
- Are at least 18 years old with a stable prescription for at least two years
- Are in good general and eye health
- Want to reduce or eliminate dependence on glasses or contacts
The ideal age range is generally 25 to 40. After age 40, other vision changes like presbyopia may make LASIK less suitable, but our surgeons can recommend alternative options if needed.
During your consultation, the experienced specialists at Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania perform a thorough eye exam and discuss your goals to determine if LASIK is a good fit for you.
What to Expect After Surgery
Many patients notice clearer vision within 24 to 48 hours, with continued improvement over several weeks. Post-operative care is straightforward and includes avoiding eye rubbing, water exposure, and eye makeup for a few days. Most people return to work and daily activities quickly, often within one to two days.
Our team will schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your healing and ensure optimal results. You’ll also receive detailed aftercare instructions and support throughout your recovery.
Why Choose Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania?
